I learned my ancestors lived in Ferniehirst, just before my trip to Scotland. I had to go by and see part of my own history. The cleaning lady was kind enough to give me and my husband a quick show of the common rooms. It hands down made my entire day/vacation. Seeing my own history and learning about it has been...

If you are a Kerr or even if you aren't, thos place is lovely. Our tourguide, Bob Lawson, is the most knowledgeable person on all things Kerr related and is notable historian on the subject. He oozes with passion and love for his work. I highly recommend this place. And the tour only costs 10 pounds.

Beautiful castle with amazing history to it. Our tour guide Val was the best ever tour guide. This lady was so friendly & welcoming & her knowledge of the castle & history in general was out of this world. We'll be back next year for the open day. Love this castle....
