Gardenstown is a charming little village. From the top you get nice views of the town and the sea.

Drive down the winding road to the harbour. A bigger carpark is on the eastern end of town. A very small one at the other end of the seawall (which is an adventure to drive).

The homes and houses on the seawall are known as "Seatown". Very much worth a look, very pretty. The harbour is a functioning harbour with some nice views. Especially at sunset. There's some fish sold around the harbour if you get here in the morning.

If you missed it, then worry not: There's a chippy shop (actually a food truck) right at the harbour. Serving wonderful Fish'n'chips and fried seafood until sundown. Super-fresh, freshly prepared by order and good-priced.

A good number of picnic tables right down here as well with some harbour views.

It's not really a busy town and in the evening you'll find mostly locals around the harbour area. A very nice place to see and to be....

Drove into Gardenstown to experience the village and harbour, such a beautiful little place. There is parking at the end of the harbour with overnight parking allowed, with donations accepted for the privilege which I think is only fair. There are public toilets there and great little cafe and gift shop. Well worth a visit. There are a few tight switchbacks driving in and out of the village but we managed fine in a...

This really is a great place to come and see picturesque harbour scenery and have the opportunity to wander around a bit. A steep descent down the cliff road to the harbour is a bit white knuckle at times but perfectly fine with a car parking area at the east end of Gardenstown. A couple of shops are available and there is a pub serving food at the west end. Really good visit particularly in...

Super old fishing village. Treat the place and its people with great respect. In summer it becomes a bit too busy but I dare say the money that tourists bring in (do they actually bring in money to the village?) justifies the hordes. Still, at least it still has local inhabitants and has not become one big Air BnB rental. Yet.
