Well signposted from the road as Langass Forest, a proper road up to a small car park. Entrance to the forest through a kissing gate. Big map on a board to show routes through the forest. Quickest route to Hercules is along the edge of the forest and cut up at sign for bear. A short walk through the trees to get to the memorials. The biggest is to Hercules standing up. Also memorial to Andy Robbins from his wife Maggie. Hercules grave is also marked. A bench to sit and drink in the site. The view from the path is worth the walk. I went to the end of the trees to get the best view over to the hills.

Lovely forest walk all stone paths, bird watching hut with posters of different birds and butterflies in the forest, information board on the life and history of Hercules the Bear, yellow paw prints on marker boards help you find the statue of Hercules. You will see small fairy houses throughout the forest, parking at the entrance and also across the road, picnic area with 3 large picnic benches. Great place to visit and explore

Nice little walk, 30 minutes to an hour. Little car park leading straight to the path. Looks to be a favourite to the locals and has been decorated with sculptures, painted rocks and fairy gardens.

A pleasant round walk of around 30 minutes to the sculpture of the bear which is quite impressive. I was touched more by the grave of the bear and also owner of the bear at the same place. There is not much to see in this part of Uist and this was...
