My wife and I stumbled upon this hidden gem of Islay while waiting to take the ferry back from Islay. Prior to this trip, we had not known about Islay wines, but we are beyond happy that we found this spot. The owner was welcoming and excited to share her passion with us at her beautiful property. It was such a fun environment as I willingly got to play with her pups while tasting some unique wine that she personally makes 100% herself. This was such a fun experience, and we left with a bottle of wine that we had no clue we'd find on the island. This is a must go and deserves far more attention - do yourself a favor and swing up for some tasty wine, a good laugh, and a memorable experience. Even the deer on the mainland approve!

One of the highlights of Islay Helen is hilarious and the whole experience was fantastic. Along with her husband Kenneth (who apparently works harder than her...) they have been producing fruit wines in an upstairs bedroom for over 5 years. Next to the house is a wee marquee where you are invited to try the wines. A 'try' basically means a full glass of every single flavour coupled with exceptional banter. Loved it. The Barley wine is totally unique and would be my recommendation, they do smaller bottles too which are brilliant gifts to take home for friends etc.

This is a wonderful experience not to be missed if you’d like to experience homemade wines, created with love by Helen from her traditional family’s recipes. A very heart-filled Islay experience of genuine welcome and charming hospitality in a cosy cabin, just a few minutes from the ferry in Port Ellen

We saw this place on our way back from some whisky tastings and thought this would be a nice quick break from whisky haha. The lady running the shop was extremely friendly and let us sample several of their wines. She even warmed up their mulled wines for us! The wines were mostly sweet or dry white wines, which aren't necessarily my favorite, but these were particularly tasty to me. I especially liked the rhubarb based wine. I would highly recommend anyone stop here. Even if you aren't a huge wine fan, these are very well done and i think you'll find at least a few that...
