The Bo'ness car show was held at the estate. It was my first time to experience this. It was a beautiful sunny day and the show itself was well worth the trip. It was brilliantly organised, it had bike shows, 100s of cars lined up, activities games for kids, clean toilets, ice cream, food and coffee vendors and the entry fee was not that high, £15 adults and £10 children above 12 years. My son was in fast car heaven. I'm not a cat fanatic but I still enjoyed my time there.

This place has it all. Huge spaces for dogs. Outdoor Bike trails for all abilities. Paths for walkers. Pond and loch side water with tons of birds. Forest. Historic aspects to admire on the estate. Public Bathrooms at the museum. Wonderful historical information. Car park. Definitely great place for a picnic in the summer or a wee walk. Forest walk is phenomenal. Loops all around and you can do smaller trails. Car park to the top of the forest small but enough spaces.

Lovely house dating back to the 15th century saved from demolition after Renaissance wall paintings were found. In the old stable block is a fascinating museum with an extremely helpful and friendly guide. Plenty to see in the grounds such as the old kirk and a workshop where James Watt developed his first steam engine.

We attended the tour of the property conducted by Historic Scotland. Lots of interesting details of the estate, the owners and related history were covered. Sad to see the results following the reclamation of materials from the roof and floors in the Duchess Ann extension. Also reclaimed, all internal timber panelling in the earlier building, yet the removal exposed earlier decor, shows scenes of the Good Samaritan story. It appears this discovery halted the further removal of materials, thankfully. Well...

what a great find, amazing walks, spectacular historic home and views are excellent, also love the public art and it would be wonderful to see more pieces around the site, children and dog friendly but would like to see more bins, well worth a visit, no food or drink available on the day we visited so take your own its Scotland at best and don't forget to take your rubbish away with you that way it will be just as special for the next time, don't assume that you will be able to use the toilets as they could...
