Knockderry Castle — Attraction in Scotland

Just back from a 2 night break with my 7 and 15 year olds. The castle is stunning along with a large garden to enjoy. Our dog loved it too! The host was very helpful and friendly.

The apartment itself is very spacious with everything you need for a self catering stay. It was very clean. The bed was up there with the mattresses expected in high end hotels so i slept well. Original features make it a different experience as you get from modernised buildings which attracted me to booking this stay. One thing I would say is that the apartment can get cold so pack your dressing gown and slippers :)

Nearby there are a few shops, cafe and pub. We ate in the cafe at lunch time which was OK. We also had take out from a Chinese (Lotus) about 3 miles away which I highly recommend.

Stayed in the lower apartment its a bit dated, basic and overall tired however it's also very good value for money with a very comfy bed everything you could need and wonderful views in an absolutely fantastic location and building. the host is welcoming and helpful and I had a relaxing and wonderful stay here. If you want 5 star luxury its not for you. But my family had a great stay here and they even supplied the travel cot. Got a great swing and trampoline outside for the kids too.
