The whole island is brilliant. We did most of it with Explore Lismore who took us around the key sites and knew the history. A great treat which ended with homemade apple pie made by Iris our fantastic guide. And she left us at the Lismore Heritage Centre. A great community run restaurant with the best food and an excellent restaurant. Ok only a day out but it will long stay in our memory.

The centre is almost half way down the island on the main road from the Port Appin ferry crossing. An excellent stopping point for cyclists with reasonably priced, top rated cafe style light lunch and drinks. Great local staff and an interesting heritage display.

Lovely cafe with cheerful staff and good soup and coffee. It would be better if they made their own bread rolls. Really interesting museum with some vey good information boards on the history of the island.

Lovely cafe with great selection of food a drink which was a real treat after hiking round the island in the rain! Brilliant museum that gave a great insight into the islands history and fab little shop. Had a lovely long chat to the lady who works in the shop as I was fascinated with island life. Sorry I chewed your ear off...
