Beautiful Loch with views all along the road, passing Eilean Donan Castle. Well worth a stop off, travelling to and from Isle of Skye. If you take the C1223 road West from Shiel Bridge, there are a couple of parking areas with a view over Loch Duich (see attached photo taken from the viewpoint on Mam Ratagan). There's so much wildlife around here too. Whilst caravanning at Morvich we've seen plenty of deer in the area as well as Otters at the Plock of Kyle near the Skye Bridge. There are three parking areas at the Plock of Kyle visitors centre - near the entrance, higher up the hillside, and another by the viewpoint overlooking Skye Bridge and Loch Duich. The tracks around the community park lead off in a number if directions. Look out for Otters around the coast here. We spotted one near a bay overlooking the Skye bridge.

My wife and I have just spent two weeks in a cottage in Letterfearn on the banks of Loch Duich. This was our 5th visit and we still count ourselves lucky to have found such a beautiful place to visit. The views from the cottage across the Loch and up the Loch to the Five Sisters of Kintail are out of this world, a place of peace and tranquillity. Oh, must not forget the wildlife, we have badgers, pinemartens visiting the garden, buzzards, herons and golden eagles flying overhead. There are seals, dolphins or porpoises that swim in the Loch and also otters which we have seen eating fish on the shore of the Loch right outside the cottage, brilliant😁😁
