Mauldslie Bridge — Attraction in Scotland

Vandalism, fire raising and litter are the problems which spoil this environment. A fire being set in the hollow of a large Douglas fir tree, is an act of wanton vandalism which beggers belief. Those who leave litter everywhere are no better. There is even a fridge in the river, dropped from the road bridge above. Beautiful old gatehouse to what used to be Mauldslie Castle. Driven past this many times and wondered what the story behind it was. Shame to hear that where the castle once stood is now a sewerage works. The castle was demolished in 1934. What a sight it would have been. So many of the great houses of the Clyde Valley...
