Old Kilchoman Parish Church — Attraction in Scotland

I just returned from this old church (October 26, 2023) after flying across the ocean with the hope of seeing the grave of my ancestor in the cemetery there. I saw it before in 2018. Now the entire church and its cemetery are fenced off completely. Even worse, the grounds in which the graves lie is not being maintained or even mowed. This cemetery contains the grave of Lachlan Mor Maclean, the 14th Chief of the Clan Maclean and an extremely historic figure. I fear that this and all the other graves will be consumed by the earth if nothing is done. Unforgivable. The old church was built in 1827, relatively new for Scotland. The cemetery has more historic value than the church, in my opinion, and should be torn down so that families can pay respects to...

This church is derelict and falling down. As a result, access to the old cemetery is blocked off. We traveled across the ocean in part to pay respects to our ancestor who was buried there over 400 years ago, and were unable to. Furthermore, the old cemetery has been uncared for and overgrown, with tall grass and foliage covering up the gravestones. It's an old church. Fenced off and dilapidated, you can't go in and can't get close to it. There's an old cemetery adjacent to it. Lots of sheep nearby. This is a pretty remote location, about 5 miles down a narrow road through pasture.

No plaques or any historic information, just a stone shell of an old church.
