We saw a castle in the distance, which happened to be another one ,but our sat nav took us straight to Pitsligo Castle . The owner had a chat with us about the history of the place. The bones of the castle are still there and what a beautiful place it would have been in its heyday. Many benefactors have intented to renovate the building to a safer lever but now it appears there are no funds left to save it, we explored it thoroughly and it appears some locals have used it as bolt hole for drinking and a sketchy attempt at drawing a pentagram on one of the walls, such a shame people don't respect these places. We tidied up a few bits of rubbish that were scattered about and put them in the provided bin. One place that would definitely benefit from some heritage funding before it's lost to time for good.
