I visited in Jul 21, I can say in all honesty that this is a lovely place to go for a walk or a picnic. There are a number of clearly marked routes over terrain that is mostly easy going, one was not ok for wheelchairs or those with limited mobility. That said the walk through to Scone was nice and there's a pub in Scone to rest at if you wish. Better than the pub (can't believe I said that!) is the excellent cafe and gift shop at the entrance to the park. It has a small menu but sufficient to quell any hunger pangs, a good selection of drinks and some nice looking cakes. The place was staffed by volunteers who were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Over the road is Scone Palace which charges an arm and a leg to walk around their woods, this place is free and I believe is a much better walk. I will definitely go here again! I revisited again today, 10 Sep 22 and am pleased to confirm my previous comments. There has been some rain this week so the two water courses Annaty and Langley were flowing strongly, that was good to see. The down side was that the paths were muddy and could make passage difficult. Personally it didn't bother me at all but if you don't like getting a bit muddy or slipping on the mud think of your footwear. There have been some renovations to the fencing which has enhanced the safety side. The signs on entry ask dog owners to keep dogs on a lead and mountain bikers not to use the site the vast majority were ignoring that. All that did not bother me at all, but if site owners want to give direction then either enforce it or remove the signs. Likewise signs at the entrance point offering maps in the cafe/shop need removing as they don't have any. Again, that didn't bother me as the walk is by no means lengthy nor complicated. If there are no maps take the notice down please. Overall a lovely, gentle walk and as the shop/cafe is a Macmillan Cancer one please go there and use it. Finally once again the staff are marvellous, lovely, kind and...
Read moreThe car park is behind the café with space for up to a dozen cars. Paths go on both sides of the burn that runs the length of the park. There are several bridges to allow walkers to cross over and either keep walking up or return to the car park. We saw a wheelchair taking the path on the carpark side and they could probably go right into Scone at the top end. The other side has a steep climb that would make it difficult half way up. There is a platform with barriers to allow wheelchair users a look at the burn just before the climb. There is a viewing platform also at a pond which is the most scenic part of the place. Nothing strenuous and good walking paths all round. There was plenty of dog...
Read moreReally disappointed by this park. The walks took only half an hour to do, which would have meant going 3 times for a decent walk. But that was nothing compared to the rudeness of the staff in the shop. Having travelled 44 minutes to visit and support this worthy cause Macmilla Cancer. I was turned away from using the toilets unless we bought food. But we had dogs to walk first, as sitting down having not exercised them is pointless.
Instead I had to endure a very painful walk, bit plus point and my reason for writing is give this a miss and instead cross the road literally 2 minutes away to Scone Palace. They treat guests...
