RSPB Black Devon Wetlands — Attraction in Scotland

I think this has got to be a bit of a hidden gem in Clackmannanshire, as it's just of the centre of Alloa (5min walk), and you're out into a large nature reserve. Now, yeah, for the first 5mins you are walking underneath pylons, but get beyond them and it's actually rather nice! Great little urban fringe reserve, easily accessed from Alloa. It has a range of habitats and is bordered by the tidal River Forth. On my most recent visit I had 3 Whimbrel, Sedge, Grasshopper and Garden Warblers, nesting Lapwings and a pair of Shovelers. A Spoonbill turned up there a few weeks ago. Fairly new reserve which is now being run by the RSPB and is getting better every year. Great place to see Reed Buntings, Sedge Warblers, water fowl and if you are lucky Short Eared Owl. It is accessable for those on wheelchairs especially if accompanied, only dropped a star in the ratings as no toilet...
