This walk is perfect for an hour or two's wandering among ancient woodland, take the dog, bring kids - it's not lengthy enough for them to lose interest, just be wary of traffic, as the final section back to the carpark is up the single track road. Lush and green when we visited, the path rises fairly steeply before emerging just above the trees into a brief high moorland section - birds chirp, eagles and buzzards soar and the biodiversity is stunning. There is a stretch of boardwalk before the path descends back down opening jaw dropping views of the Loch and the Sound of Mull below with the sound of flowing water at times creating a very serene atmosphere. Handy for visitors to the Distillery at Glenbeg or explorers wishing to stop and enjoy some nature on the road to Kilchoan or back towards Salen...

The board walk needs a handrail as I was very dizzy walking on it and transferred to walking in the bog. The route down is a killer on your shins and not on a path just rough terrain.This is totally unsuitable to anyone who has small children or any minor disabilities be very careful ! Gave it 2 stars as it’s in Glenborrodale and we did see a Sea Eagle but nothing else ! Much better...
Read moreThere is a lovely nature trail that takes you up over the hill into the nature reserve that can be found a couple meters just outside of this little car park with amazing views of area. The trail leads about 2 km up the road. From there you can easily walk back to the car park along the road. Whilst walking this trail there is plenty of opportunity to spot golden eagles, Sea eagles and if you are lucky peregrine falcons. Well worth a trip if you are in the area and want to go...
