The most spectacular thing about this area is the view. Simply amazing views of the coast as you walk along the cliff tops, with the Old Man of Hoy visible at one end and a lighthouse at the top of a cliff at the other.

This is just a 5-min drive from the Brough of Birsay, so it's a nice thing to do after crossing over the Brough. To get there, just follow the signs to the Kitchener Memorial (currently covered in scaffolding), and when you get up to the top of the hill (an easy 10-min walk), you'll be entering the Reserve and can immediately start...

Plenty of parking with a bonus honesty box (though it was empty when we visited) and the a relative short and overgrown walk takes you to the base of the cliffs. A little uphill climb and you're rewarded with incredible views and, when we were there, loads of puffins. We visited in the...

There is a nice circular walk about 2.5 miles so you don't have to walk back...

Visited yesterday. Great walk and views. Not too many birds due to weather. My husband has left his binoculars somewhere between the fisherman's cottages and the memorial on the hill.Great sentimental value as they belonged to his Grandad.Very distinctive strap.Hoping someone someone have found them-we can pay postage to return.
