Sanday Heritage Centre — Attraction in Scotland

A little building giving a good history of all sorts the island has had to offer the world over the period of its existence.

A lot of context about the B-98 German Destroyer is found here along with famous people, archaeological information and more!

The interactive displays (whether electronic or physical) were really creative and informative.

The building also has an archive room which is great if you would like to sit down and read about the island's heritage.

Lots to learn here about the history of Sanday and the goings on, lovely little section about the Girl Guides over time on Sanday. Drawers full of interesting items like shells, skeletons etc. You can view footage of the seals around the island from a TV in the centre. Always someone on hand when there too. There are some little bits for sale, post cards, trinkets etc so...

Lots and lots of local information collected by volunteers. Presentation is quite dense and would benefit from more interpretation. Great to see the actual Appie stone and read about the Islands exploits during WW2. Fantastic place to research the island and its...
