From the car park it it is a walk along a road till a turn off onto a worn path to get to a gate and entrance to the field that temple is in. There are information boards explaining the site and who looks after it. Through the gate there are sheep to negotiate before entering the site at the rear. Another gate to get through then you are free to look around. It has graves all around and within. There are good views over the sea lochs.

I explored Trinity Temple at Carnish, which is now populated by sheep and on a hillside coated with yellow iris’s. The church was an important medieval monastery and seat of learning but was abandoned after the reformation and probably had lots of stone looted for local building projects! I wouldn't recommend taking dogs as there are sheep and rabbits roaming free!

You are going to disturb a fair amount of sheep to get to the Trinity Chapel but the path is pretty clearly marked if a bit boggy in places. Originally established in the 13th C by Bethic a daughter of Somerled legendary Lord of the Isles. The chapel was a historically important religious establishment.
