As said in MANY reviews over the last 2+ years, the first point of contact is the woman on reception. She really didn't want to be there by the way she was acting. Took my card for payment, I assumed to put it into the chip and pin machine, nope...she decided she was doing the contactless payment herself!!! No receipt could be given as contactless only gives one receipt. Fairly sure that's not even legal to process it on their behalf... Obnoxious, rude and unwilling to help. Asked her where the toilets were and she just pointed in the general direction, we ended up in the staff toilets as her directions were so non-existent. Characters are fairly misrepresented and in need of new and correctly coloured paint. In the den, staff couldn't wait to get away. The day started on a negative due to the extremely unhelpful nature of your glorified receptionist and the review will be solely based on her. We had a good laugh at the characters but don't think she's laughed in a decade or two. She either needs retrained in proper customer service or to retire. Not fair on people who want to enjoy the facilities on offer to have to deal...
Read moreIt’s a fun day out close to Aberdeen for little kids. Don’t go if you want to see good models of your favourite characters. But the shapes and colours are great fun for little ones. The area is clean and well kept and a decent space for a few hours outdoor with family. The cafe good quality a little pricy maybe if you are on a budget. The indoor play fun and well kept.
However don’t forget or loose your mask. The charge £1 for a paper surgical. Ridiculous mark up. I’d probably pay for a cloth one with their logo on it up to £4-£5 pounds. But a basic single use surgical mask - nope. Not available until you make your way to the food counter either. I don’t like companies who want to make a profit on a necessity or the pandemic. Not been charged once for a surgical mask in any shop/ hotel /restaurant . Get your act together even asking for a donation to cover cost only to spend on mask/ sanitiser if you truly cannot cover costs...
Read moreIt is a good venue for the kids. Inside the den is a huge soft play climbing area . Separate area for the little ones but just as much fun with slides and ball pit. Cafe onsite. During busy times ie weekends +school holiday you can be limited to 90mins. They have a loyalty card for midweek use only. The Glen part is a big outdoor area with character statues from old tales and rhymes , with a few modern ones too. I do think they need to spend some time updating some of it as looks unloved mostly. There is a chicken house with live hens and cockeral. I was surprised to see the statue of ' Old woman who lived in a shoe' there smacking her child ! ( see photo ) Don't think it's appropriate in this day. My son was asking what she was doing to the boy. I wouldn't go back to the Glen outside but will be back to the den inside. Need to pay for adults and children outside Glen but only...
