It's right by the side of the road down from Kircudbright . There's a big carpark, grassed picnic areas and toilets and then. The beach. We were lucky to find it on a gorgeous sunny September morning. Gentle waves on a sandy beach with the most wonderful view of ranges. Imagine the sun shimmering like stars on the water. There are seabirds, yes, but also country birds and butterflies as it's right next to the countryside. It's not big but it's ample for our eyes and souls to appreciate- the dog thought it was...

Lovely little cove, a small sandy beach with a rockier part at the end. Large grassy area for parking and picnics, the grass is a little bumpy for driving over but there is also a small concrete area next to the toilet block. Toilets were clean as was the beach - no litter and plenty of bins available. A few picnic benches dotted about. The large grassy area has a few gaps in the hedge onto the main road so you need to kerp an eye on your...

Brilliant views of Dhoon Bay. Lovely big grassy area for picnics right on beach. Says no overnight camping but clearly not regulated as van with huge tepee tent there all weekend and also large van and car parked up, two untethered dogs chasing anyone who went near them. Campfire on beach burning wood from woodland opposite. Spoiling it for everyone else. Should be regulated. Public toilets on site also. Few picnic tables...

A lovely spot to dip your toes in the water, walk barefoot on the beach or clamber over the rocks. At low tide you can see the wreck of a 100 year old sailing ship rising up on the shoreline. Lots of grass to park up and picnic on too. Great for dogs as well as there is a freshwater source which runs down from the hillside through the rocks onto the beach
