A beautiful place well away from the town of Minehead (about 3Β½ miles) and on a nice day you get some truly amazing views of the West Somerset coastline out towards Lynmouth and if you are prepared to walk a few minutes North of the main parking area, you get a tremendous view of Porlock and Porlock Weir, Bossington beach a couple of miles away and 100m or so below.

Also the South Coast Path runs nearby and if you go just up beyond it, you can on a clear day see the South Wales coastline with Aberthaw Power Station, Porthcawl and Barry Island in the foreground and Brecon Beacons behind, also a considerable way up the Bristol Channel, Flat Holme, Steep Holme, Hinckley Point and towards Weston-super-Mare.

Turn around and you can see Dunkery Beacon, Stoke Pero and the wildness of Exmoor.

Please note: This area has Exmoor Ponies on it which aren't overly friendly towards humans or dogs, so do give them a wide berth, sheep are also allowed to graze on certain areas so dog's MUST BE KEPT UNDER CONTROL.

Finally there are adders up here seen a couple, so just beware if you're walking round...

This is a bit of a gem finding the veiw point carpark. Great views and walks. There are many routes to choose from. We walked down through the woods and along to Hurlston point. Where we were rewarded with a grey seal playing in the sea below the point. The climb back up is very steep and suggest lots of stopping to take in the veiw. πŸ˜‚ Second walk was along the path to what we thought was the veiw point, took us through woods and into Selworthy. Both great walks, took around an hour and a half/ two...

Love this place. On a clear day Dunkery Beacon is clearly visible and the tapestry of colour across the hill is phenomenal especially when the heather and gorse are in flower, whilst the sound of bird song is beautiful. The view across the sea is calming and on a good evening the view of the sunset is amazing. Such a feast for all senses and that's before you...
