Please help protect this wonderful place when you visit.
So many more people than ever before are now visiting Glen Howe Park. This is great, but please can you make sure that our wonderful village park does not become spoilt by doing the following:
Always park only on the surfaced car park. Over recent months many people have parked on the grass of the adjoining playing field and this has created a huge amount of damage by turning the previously lush turf in to deeply rutted mud. Numerous cars have had to be towed out as a result, causing further damage. Large cut tree trunk have recently been placed around the edge of the car park to try and prevent this, however people are still parking, getting stuck on and further damaging this children's playing field. If the car park is full then please act considerately and either wait for a place or park responsibly on one of the residential streets nearby.

It is OK to put bagged dog waste into any of the bins in the park or the car park (they are labelled as such). Again, if you don't feel you can't pick up after your dog then please don't come to the...

Located in Wharncliffe Side, it's hidden away in the hills.
There's a small car park down a single track road. In the field next to it is a playground. There's a number of paths available to walk around once you get in.
Some paths are quite steep and become really narrow, so stick to the main paths if you're not to confident, or have small children. Otherwise, those paths are great to explore.
Plenty of plants and trees explore around, and an old packhorse bridge from the 1700's that was brought in brick by brick from Ewden Valley.
Go visit if you can, this is such a lovely out of...
Read moreGreat place for a walk, plenty of wildlife knocking about, some beautiful waterfalls when you get further in. I didn't see it all in the first three visits but it is worth exploring. Nice scenery, streams, bridges etc. Some bits are steep so not suitable for everyone. Looking forward to wandering round there more now the weather is improving. Obviously well liked by dog walkers, hikers and families alike, I can see why others say it's quirky but...
