Absolutely superb walk / hike! Be aware though, if you park at the Upper Derwent Visitor Centre and decided to then walk around the Upper Derwent and Howden Reservoirs its around 17-18km. Fantastic views and scenery, but can be hard going if you're not an experienced walker. My legs were aching by the end, but I didn't have proper footwear (as didn't realise how far it was). Give yourself plenty...

A wonderful reservoir - the famous and beautiful dam is a short walk from the pay and display carpark. To get to the other side of it you need to climb a steep set of stairs - but it is well worth it. Dog had fun.
