Beautiful beach with a lovely walk across. We were on motorbikes and it does have a gravelly car park with quite a few campervans/ motorbikes parked. We managed to park ok but cars would have struggled. The roads leading to it are single track with passing places and pass through small hamlets so please take care. Photo shows a different view at the edge of the beach rather than the well recognised Tombolo with the edge of St Ninians on the...

As beautiful as the photos & a great beach for skimming stones! Was pristine when we were there so presume there has been a clean up effort since the negative reviews from pre 2018. Big bins by the carpark so we did our bit by removing some washed up nylon rope & a plastic bag which were the only bit of waste visible. Spend 90mins walking across tombolo & around part of the island. Chapel was in a safe state to visit & fenced...

Absolutely stunning. Stopped by only because I overheard someone comment on it and I'm so pleased that we did. It was spitting with rain when we arrived, but it cleared to a blue sky, There was so much to enjoy - gusty wind, large waves, birds, a seal, sand, stunning views. A magical place. I walked around for a couple hours. The tombolo is just the beginning. As I walked up the trail to the other side of the island, just breath talking scenery. The sheep were grazing, overcast, windy, classic Shetland weather. I throughly enjoyed my time there. St Ninians chapel also worth a visit. The Shetlanders are great at preserving historical sites.

St Ninian's Isle And Beach are probably one of the most visited places on Shetland but it has never been crowded on the occasions I have been. The scenery is outstanding as is most of Shetland. For people who enjoy walking then St Ninian's Island is a must. There is a good car parking area by the Beach. The closest village is Bigton which has a shop and public toilets.
