York FootGolf — Attraction in Skelton

This was our first visit and we had a great fun couple of hours with our grandson. It's a lovely outdoor course in a peaceful and pretty country setting.

We were welcomed on arrival and the course explained to us. We were given a score card which included the layout of the 15-hole course.

Don't bother bringing your own ball as the hire ones (£1 ea) are to a good standard. There's a well presented indoor cafe/bar and a large outdoor patio area with lots of tables and umbrellas.

There's an outdoor catering wagon too. You can pre-order food from the course (QR code scanner) and you can take drinks around with you as there's wire baskets to dispose of the empties at every hole.

Good course, and friendly staff who helped pump up our ball, but the experience ever so slightly tarnished when told we could have paid half the amount to play due to a Facebook offer… we were given £10 off for next time, but anyone would prefer half price on the day.

Edit: I don’t believe you couldn’t log onto the website and submit a 50% refund, all modern websites have this functionality. Rather than telling us we could have paid half price and giving us a voucher we probably won’t get around to using. Just an opinion, others may think differently.

We were looking for something to do for 5 blokes and came across this little gem, first time playing footgolf and didn’t know what to expect, the owner was brilliant, staff were great, onto the course, a fantastic 15 hole course ranging form short holes to a tricky par 5, after finishing we stopped and had a few beers in three bar and played a couple games of pool, absolutely incredible setup and we all went away talking about the place, whenever we are back in York we will...
