Fantastic Historic Church in a beautiful village and the resting place of Kings , Saints and Vikings not forgetting famous cricketers too . King Aethelbald of Mercia and Saint Wystan himself were once laid to rest here . Also, one Ivar Ragnarsson, aka Ivar the Boneless the famous and indomitable warrior of the Great Heathan Army fame is said to be at rest here . WOW . Well worth a visit for both history and church fanatics . More importantly a beautiful place for quiet reflection and prayer .

The crypt of this church is 8th century and therefore is one of the oldest continuously used places of worship in the country. It's a special place. The rest of the church is 14/15th century and nice enough, some interesting grave slabs on display and some Saxon era columns and cross shaft pieces kept in the porch. The church also has the distinction of being the centre of the winter camp of the 'great heathen army' IE vikings who invaded England in 873. Lots of history round here

A fine church in the old mercian capitol of repton. Parking is limited near the church and is on a busy toad, but font let that put you off. Outside there is the burial of one of the greatest cricketers of his age CB Fry, while inside there are some great old tombs, and a wonderful saxon crypt to explore. Def worth a look

Kings of Mercia buried here before the Vikings came and smashed everything up. The church survived. Its well worth a visit to the crypt, recently restored. This was an old pilgrim site, archeologically excavated with artefacts in Derby museum and London Museum of History.

The ancient burial place of the Kings of Mercia in the crypt beneath the chancel. Large parts of the upper Anglo-Saxon Church also remain.

This is such a beautiful church, set in lovely surroundings and so peaceful, full of history, dating back to the Anglo Saxon's.
