Gara Rock beach — Attraction in South Hams

A busy restaurant with a wonderful view. A visit on New Year's Day was very pleasing, but owing to business being good, had to sit outside and enjoy the view. The downside to the busy day was the extensive wait for a cup of tea to be delivered to the table. Fifteen minutes seemed a little bit excessive. Gara rock beach is beautiful 🏖

A lovely quiet spot with nice clear water perfect for a dip in the sea.

The walk down and back up to get to the beach may look daunting but it is more than worth it.

Dogs are allowed all year round and the gara rock hotel is close by with facilities on offer and lovely food and drink.

As others have stated it's a beautiful beach and due to the challenging walk down to it(and even more challenging back up)it is very secluded. One other bit of advice. Don't make the mistake I did getting to it by relying on your car sat nav. Mine a Ford focus took me along barely passable single track "roads". Not nice!!!! Use Google maps on...
