This is one of the more pricier farms I've been to however it is more than worth the price. We went with 3 adults and 2 children (aged 3 and 11) and we ALL thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There is sooo much to do, I would advise getting there early to make the most of it! I won't give to much away because I don't want to spoil it for anyone planning on visiting but some highlights for us were bottle feeding the baby goats, piggy races and grooming the ponies - all of which are included in the entrance price! Some other fab things included are a mini train ride (adults are allowed on with smaller children/babies), tractor ride and the animals handling area 😍 we absolutely loved this area and got to hold mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, baby goats and piglets! - it's not 100% necessary but it's preferable that you purchase a mini blanket for handling the animals from the gift shop (£3 each)... One of the bunny's nibbled a few holes in the blanket 😂 ...at least it saved our clothes 🙌🏼👌🏼 It is a huge farm, there is free mini crazy golf, a lookout tower, a field you can get up and close with Shetland ponies, a inside area with inflatable slides, food area with lots of picnic bench type seating and lots more. You can buy animal feed from the front entrance or gift shop, and there is a couple of rides - like motorised ride ons that cost £1 a go, so a bag of £1 coins would be helpful if your children will want to go on those. The majority of things are included in the price though so don't panic if you don't have change because there is plenty to do! Next time we will probably take a picnic because it was quite expensive for food and drinks on site. It cost nearly £15 for 2 cans of drink, a cheese sandwich and a Cornish pasty. All were lovely but if you want to save some pennies then bring your own food and drinks 👍🏼 the gift shop was actually really reasonably priced which surprised me in comparison to other similar places. There is plenty of parking, the spots nearer the entrance are concrete based and the back flow car park is more field/gravel. All staff were super friendly and more than happy to stand for a chat when we asked for more information about the animals etc. We truly had such a brilliant day, I've already recommended it to many friends and I can't wait to go back in the near future 🙌🏼

Update as of 15.12.2024 - We visited today for the magical Christmas experience and it was indeed just that, magical. This year the format of the day was slightly different than previous years and it was great! The change is definitely for the better and the order of events works brilliantly. My husband, daughter and I have had the best day and it really made us feel Christmassy. The new addition of the Christmas Village and all the photo opportunities and the option to purchase drinks, food, toasting marshmallows, using the park etc and having the free flow and being able to stay as long as you like after the nativity, animal cuddles and visiting Santa was just brilliant! Whoever thought of this deserves major brownie points. Excellent idea! We also loved all the cheeky elves that were hiding and playing whilst we waited for Santa. Another great idea to keep the kids (and adults) entertained. Elf Jeff who drove the tractor was also amazing. So funny and so lovely. Thank you everyone at Pennywell for making our visit one to remember. Update as of 26.08.2024 - We came to the farm today for my daughter’s 9th birthday and we had an absolutely brilliant day! There is so much to do and see, it is so well organised and the staff are lovely. The animals are well looked after and happy. It’s a lovely family attraction and I highly recommend it to anyone with young children. The highlight for us was the animal cuddles as this is our favourite part but we thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and can’t wait to return. Thank you Chris and the Pennywell Farm team for a fab birthday day out :-) December 2023 - This is the third year we have come to Pennywell Farm for the Christmas experience. We love it! It’s traditional and simple and so enjoyable. All the staff are lovely and friendly. The way the experience is organised/laid out is great. The highlight for us is always the animal cuddles. I highly recommend coming here.

A fantastic place to take the little ones, buggy friendly. A mixture of tarmac, gravel, short grass and chipped bark walking surfaces. You do need to buy tickets online, although these can be bought on the day if the site isn’t too busy. On arrival the car park is a mixture of grass, gravel and tarmac, walking back towards the car park entrance you’ll find the main entrance. Head into the entrance where they will ask you for your name and offer to sell you a blanket and animal food. You will need the blanket if you want to hold the animals but can bring your own if money is tight. You have to buy animal feed as it’s a special mixture, do not feed the animals anything else. Feeding the animals is a great experience and there are signs stating whether you can or cannot feed them food (if you bought some). Towards the back there is a field with ponies which you can approach and stroke, carefully (instructions are on the gate). A plea from me to parents, please watch your children, as a 4-5 year old girl started chasing a pony, the parents where not paying attention and it was only the fact she gave up a split second before the pony kicked backwards with both legs that she avoided getting hit. Whilst touching the animals is safe etc it is only safe when done with care and control, if the animals move away then don’t chase them. There are food and drink options on site and lots of picnic tables too. There is a small shop at the main entrance. There are bouncy castles and slides in a barn at the end of the site. Dotted around the site there are some little £1 rides and games for kids so do bring some change, the machines currently accept both new and old pound coins. Well worth a visit and enjoy your day there! UPDATED: June 2023

I recently had the opportunity to visit Pennywell Farm with my family, and it was a fantastic experience. The farm is filled with a variety of activities and attractions that are sure to delight children and adults alike. From the petting zoo the playground to the miniature railway, there was something for everyone to enjoy. One of the highlights of the visit was the farm animal experience, where we got the chance to meet and feed the farm animals. My kids were thrilled to get up close and personal with the animals, and it was a great opportunity for them to learn more about different types of farm animals. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they were always on hand to answer any questions we had. They seemed genuinely passionate about the farm and the animals in their care, which added to the overall experience. The only downside was that the food and drinks were quite expensive, but considering all the other fun things we did, it didn't diminish the overall experience. All in all, we had a great day out at Pennywell Farm and we will definitely be going back again. I would highly recommend Pennywell Farm to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly day out. If you are looking for a place to spend a day with your family, this is it. The only thing to consider is food and drinks are more expensive than other options

By far the best farm park I have been to with my 3 year old daughter and 9 year old sister. We went on bank holiday Monday. Their social distancing and Covid measures are second to none! There is very clear markings. The train ride is amazing and my daughter was able to ‘drive’ the train. We loved being up close to the animals and being able to feed the animals was amazing for her. Despite only being able to do half a session there was plenty to do and didn’t miss out. Their pasties are the best I have ever tasted and I have never met such friendly and helpful staff! They really are a credit to the company! Nothing was too much! Everyone was smiling and was excited to be at work! Even when a goat escaped from the pen- it was fun and no one was cross, even when their fridge had leaked and the baguettes wastes- again smiles! Loved how you could walk through the horses grazing area. Plenty of picnic areas and lots of shade! Would definitely recommend taking young and older children. the best most personal touch was the owner at the end of the session came out to say goodbye to everyone!! Wished them a safe trip back! Which in all the attractions I have been to I’ve never had that- so personal and friendly!! Will definitely return 😍😍😍
