"THE DAYMARK"..
Originally constructed as a navigation aid to 'The Dartmouth Estuary'..
Start your coastal walk to Brixham, Dartmouth, Torquay from here, average time of '4/8 hours' from Brixham to Dartmouth + see if you can get back by the time the sun sets..
8 hours gives you time to photograph this rocky, at times, precipitous, dangerous coastline, so leave your flip flops at home, as navigating these high cliffs in damp conditions requires walking boots, skill..
A heritage geological protected Coast Walk that will test your fitness, descending, ascending, the 'climb almost' back to the Coast Path from sea level, at various places on the Coast Path, greets your effort with 'scenic views', though you can take 'short cuts', only walking to "MANSANDS", "BROWNSTONE BATTERY"..
Summer offers many species of Butterfly's, House Martins, Swifts, Swallows, which are on their migratory flight to South Africa, via their roosting sites at Slapton Fresh Water Lagoon..
You might even see a few hundred Canada Geese flying along the coast to Dawlish, flying as fast as they can so to arrive by night fall..
"THE DAYMARK"..
You can observe the "START POINT LIGHT HOUSE at night from here..
Observe + Photograph The Sun as it Sets over...
