Dole Wood — Attraction in South Kesteven

Beautiful and small woods with a short circular main route and lots of minor paths bearing off into deeper parts of the wood. Paths are mostly easy to use and well maintained, with some parts along the top of the hill more heavily crossed with roots.

A site of special scientific interest. Very easy to find off Obthorpe Lane, Thurlby. There's a description sign by the layby. Just follow the footpath and there it is. Even a child could find it. Beautiful place. Bluebells form a carpet in some places. Lovely, quaint little bridges and trails. Some ancient woodland to the left and centre and if you turn right just inside the entrance there is a lovely trail around the edge with a bench to sit and rest at the top.
