5-Star Review: A Magical Alpaca Experience – Perfect for Families! We had the most incredible time at Wildwood Alpacas – it was truly unforgettable! I visited with my 5-year-old Son, 9 month old Daughter and a friend and from start to finish, everything was handled with such care and attention to detail. It was just our little group, which made it feel extra special and personal – no crowds, no rush, just us and the gorgeous alpacas. Sarah, the owner, was absolutely wonderful – warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what she does. She took the time to introduce us to each of the alpacas, sharing their names, personalities, and fun facts that my son found fascinating. She was also amazing with him – patient, kind, and incredibly engaging, making sure he felt comfortable and included every step of the way. The alpacas themselves were stunning – so gentle, curious, and beautifully looked after. We got to feed them, walk alongside them, and even enjoy some quiet moments just watching them interact. My son was completely captivated – it was a joy to see him so relaxed and happy around these lovely animals. Everything about the experience was well thought out, safe, and tailored to our pace. You can tell how much love and care goes into every part of it – from the animals to the hospitality. I can’t recommend this experience enough, especially for families with young children. It was fun, educational, peaceful, and incredibly memorable. Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your time and your beautiful alpacas with us – we’ll...
Read moreMy wife had a voucher for her birthday. I made a booking to go along with her. I contacted Wildwood to add her booking to the same date and time slot as mine, so know they received it. So, today was the day of our visit, we made a 20 mile round trip to find a locked gate. Apparently, there was plenty of time to be posting about an event they were attending on Facebook, not so much focus on letting paying customers know they were not going to open. Having hired a dog sitter and also driven there, I asked for a refund and did raise a question or two about her customer service. Apparently according to Sarah, this is “aggressive” and “I don’t allow aggressive and negative people near my alpacas”. As always, I have remained professional, have not been unreasonable, have not raised my voice or sworn at them or anything that a normal reasonable person could consider to be aggressive. I think given the disappointment of my wife today, asking for a refund was the least I should expect. Caveat emptor, and all that. Make up your own minds.
just as an addition to the reply below, I simply questioned their customer service and asked for a refund. If that is considered “negative and aggressive” so be it. The owner showed little concern, having ignored a good half a dozen calls my wife tried to make. Here’s a piece of helpful advice, if you make a mistake, a call back and apology goes a long, long way. Ignoring customers you have wronged when you make a mistake, isn’t a great way to...
Read moreWe were fortunate enough to experience the Wildwood 'Glampaca' experience over the Easter bank holiday and I can honestly say it was one of the best things we've done. Only only was Sarah friendly but she also very knowledgeable on alpacas, you could really tell this was her passion. Definitely one to do with family, friends or significant others. As well as glampacing we did an alpaca walk with Faster and Roo (the alpacas). Before the work, we were able to choose who we wanted to walk and learn a bit about the whole herd. On the walk, Sarah spoke more to us about the alpacas, their behaviours and sustainability. We were able to feed them and got some photos with them. One of the most lovely things about the experience was the emphasis Sarah placed on it being YOUR experience. The walk was private and the camping experience was only set out for one family. The Galmpaca experience itself was out of this world. The Yurt was decked out to feel quite luxurious with throws and all. And there was everything you'd need in 'the mess' area: a great little gas stove, all things camping crockery, tea bags and even some playing cards. When the sun had gone down the camp looking like something out of a fairytale with lots of solar powered fairy lights. Throughout the evening and into the next morning the alpacas stayed in the field next to us and this felt really special. It was so lovely to wake up next to the alpacas. A truly amazing experience that I would do again and recommend...
