Lovely cove on North Coast not far from St Agnes. Been coming here for 20 years +. Area and car park is run and maintained by National Trust, if you are a member it's free to park, if not, it's pay and display. It can get full very quickly. Great surf beach 3 hours either side of low water, but rips can be treacherous. Lifeguards present during daytime. There is no mobile signal down here due to the high cliffs. There is a cafe, and the food is simple but spectacularly good, and not expensive. The Ice creams, especially the "hedgehog" are one of the best ice creams ever. There are only two downside to this beach, one is the narrow road down to it, the second is the top of the beach is predominantly pebbles, shale, and boulders though onetime has started going out it becomes clean golden sand. There are many things to do here, with lots of foot paths, tracks, and of course the SW Coastal Path. The paths can be rocky and sometimes loose under foot so walking boots/shoes...

Phenomenal beach, we loved it here. Worth checking tide times as it's at its best at low tide when there are lots of caves and rock pools to explore. The rock pools are best for paddling and swimming, not many creatures to be found (or at least we didn't find any!). But great to explore nonetheless.

There's a small stream to the sea which was perfect for my toddler to splash in as she is scared of big waves!

The Chapel Porth car park is quite small and was completely full, so we parked up the hill at Wheal Coates car park which had plenty of spaces. It's not a long walk down from there, but steep. With a 2 year old we were grateful to have our carrier for her as there are some big drops and it was very windy! It was fun checking out the old mine on the way down to the beach.

The cafe on the beach was lovely - enjoyed the novelty of trying the...

A small beach with a small carpark. There seems to be an overflow carpark up the hill, however, so perhaps drop your family down at the beach and drive back up with directions from carpark staff (it's a field just after the right angle bend). Breathtaking views from the coast path here if you have the legs to get up to the top. Often good enough waves for some boogie boarding here. Very little sand at high tide but you can find somewhere else to sit or have a walk while the tide turns. The surrounding hills are steep and old tin and copper mining land (closed a century ago), recovering with a little vegetation, which may seem a bit of a moonscape but have the advantage of stopping ugly house development: this valley will get better and better. I like it - seems remoter than it is.. Don't expect mobile signal in this...

St. Agnes beach is rather on the small side among such places in Northern Cornwall, about half a mile from the quiet village - its small size is emphasized by the cliffs that enclose the bay. It does get busy on summer weekends, but not too busy. If you fancy a drink or a quick meal, there are two adjacent beach bars and a traditional pub. You can also take a walk along the cliffs, the houses that are thinly spread between the village and the beach give the place a slightly elevated atmosphere. If you're looking for a super-busy, huge beach front, I'd recommend Perranporth, which is only a few miles away. The best way to get to St. Agnes beach is by car, the bus stops in the village centre and from there you'd have to walk.

Great rustic beach, busy on bank holidays so if you want a parking space, get there early. Lots of beautiful caves to explore & plenty of rock pools. We have been lucky enough to find jelly fish here on pretty much every visit. If you love the natural outdoors with a rustic feel & caves with a magic charm then come here. You will not be disappointed. We love it here. The tide turns quickly so always stay aware of the tide. If the car park is full then you can visit Wheal Coates up on top of the cliff, just a 5 min drive around the corner to the left as you leave the beach. Great fun to be had there & impressive views too.
