Given springfields 3 stars not one to review bad or leave bad reviews but springfields could definitely do better.

We visited for the third time in three years this time choosing to camp with friends, trialing out our caravan conversion for the first time.

There was a great amount of staff on hand but sadly not the kindest or child friendly ones as expected at a theme park.

Turned up after checking on the phone before booking that we could be situ next to our friends in the campsite.

Greeting was great at reception we arrived to a beaming young face at who said we could pitch up anywhere in center of the site after me briefly saying we would like to be with or near our friends and we have a caravan. drove to site and started to unload near the play park with my son. A employee then came over to tell me off, with a loud "you can't put a caravan there you have to upgrade to a side electric pitch!" Whilst stomping over waving his hands I tried to de-escalate his posture and attitude which was very frontal, to then be shooed back to reception. I then spoke to the owner at reception and said that I checked ahead but am happy to move elsewhere " no one would of told you such a thing " well they did! At this point I was a little aggro so we walked back to the caravan to where the same man said go up there we were situated in a large corner beside the lodges plenty of room but a little over grown.

Once set up and in the park we got stuck in.. firstly on the small kids merrigo round and train. My boy loved these although sadly I had to bite my lip as once the ride finished the lady decided to shout "excuse me" to my boy as she opened the door. It was a little fiery as all he had done was climb out once she opened the door and she was already opening the kart behind not sure what her issue was but it was very abrupt as he carefully climbed out and thanked

Then we went to the paddle boats only to find they were half full of water we opted for the white one which after being pushed out the Mort we realised there was no oar support on oneside which made it impossible to row! So I said to the teenager this isn't rowable "I thought it would be funny so didn't tell you" now I have a pretty good sense of humour but just getting it back to switch boats with one that actually works was abit of a challenge and my 4 year old boy was deviated by the end of it to a point he didn't want to ride on the boats atall. After a short time and me requesting the employee to empty the boat of water (was a dry day) we were off lovely little paddle around by the end of it, though the amount of fish to water ratio doesn't seem right poor things hardly have space!

We then went off to the trampolines, one had a huge split and still in use so mentioned this to the reception, no closure or fix while we were there for our 2 days, hopefully no one fell through!

We then went to rent out a BBQ for the evening for £5 +£3 deposit and was given a boxed flimsy BBQ, too small for a family of 4 + 2 friends even if we fed the children first, smaller than a disposable! I paid ahead for this to then receive it I took it to the owner to say I expected something abit bigger, built (no tools to hand) and robust as I was expected to bring it back clean and solid but doubted the durability. "Well we do have one but it's dirty" so I requested a refund which she done by card.

All in all sadly we won't be going back not only because of the service but mainly the maintenance of the attractions bolts hanging out, broken components, missing necessities it's all to risky for me and my children.

Service ⭐ Camping ⭐⭐⭐ Attractions ⭐ Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Additional notes...

Negatives..

Camping bins were over flowing with rubbish There isn't a clean space to be found Rides aren't well looked after very rusty and missing some love and care The majority of staff are rude Fish looked cramped

Positives..

Restaurant meal was ok The young lady at reception, the young 11yr old ( ish ) on the circus stall, and the pony staff were all very nice. Animals...

We have just returned from a fantastic week at Springfield! This was our first family camping trip and we were absolutely blown away by the amount of fantastic attractions on site! The staff are really friendly. It actually offers fantastic value for money! We spent almost the whole week on site rather than out exploring Cornwall because there was so much to entertain the kids there and most of it is included in your camping price! The kids made tonnes of wonderful friends and fantastic memories! The animals are beautifully well cared for and in great condition! (Although, I do think the tortoise habitat needs a bit of work and there would be plenty of space on site to allow this. They could just do with a bit more space and more environmental enrichment).

The only reason I deducted one star was the toilet/shower facilities. They are set up as wet rooms and loos and unfortunately the method of drainage isn't great (only one narrow draining vent across the middle of the wet room between the shower and toilet). This meant that the floors often had a lot of water all over them around the toilet. On day 3, two squeegee sticks appeared which definitely helped as it meant you could clear the floors of water a bit before using the toilet (although unfortunately most people didn't bother to use them to clean up after their showers!). Three out of the 6 showers seemed to be only coming out as a Luke warm trickle when I tried them. And one of the sink taps was broken for the duration of our stay. Again not a massive issue because you just worked out which showers and sinks to use and which to avoid. But this was causing a bit of a queue in the mornings at times (there are lots of portaloos a bit further down if you are desperate for the toilet though!).

The above comments are really more constructive criticism. None of these issues ruined our stay. I just feel perhaps the owners would benefit from camping onsite for a few nights to get an idea of the issues with the shower blocks in order to address them, especially during busy periods when the facilities get a lot of use. If those issues were addressed then the place would be absolutely perfect. Overall, Springfield is a wonderful place, with a fantastic atmosphere in an idyllic setting with stunning views! It offers fab value for money. And is the perfect family getaway. We will definitely be returning for future holidays! Thank you for making our stay...

Spent 10 nights camping with an electric hook up. Absolutely brilliant time. The kids enjoyed playing with other kids, making new friends. When we were deciding what to do with the day the kids enjoyed every second in the soft play and the dodgems, ghost train and especially to tunnel of terror. It kept them happy for hours and nagging of wanting to go back. Brilliant that it's included in the price of the camping. The wetrooms/toilets were cleaned several times a day by staff. So no issues with them for that. People complaining about the mess are obviously expecting higher standards and never really camped properly before so ignore those Madonnas or "woke" tribe. If your walking around on muddy grass and walk into a room with a wet floor your going to leave a mess. If you clean up after yourself then there's no mess. Simples. The only issues with the bathrooms is you'll find a light may not work, the water runs cold in occasion or the drainage isn't draining as quickly as you'd like. (First world problems, get over it). The chips from the cafe are great and worth every penny, proper decent fat chips.

The only major issue I can say is that the field isn't level and is on a slope. We've spent nearly 10 nights in continuous rain and now our tents are flooding and the ground is so saturated in rain water it's like walking in a small pond. The pegs won't stay in and the wind is picking up.

But that isn't the campsite fault, that is the weather we've had to deal with on our visit.

The staff have been friendly and helpful during our time here. Maybe the "woke" or privileged campers who are trying to save money for their annual visits to Dubai during our cost cutting times aren't used to talking with the "normal" people of our country.

All I can say in my opinion is that its in a good location, friendly staff who will help you out at the best of their abilities, brilliant amusement for the kids.

We will definitely recommend and be...
