St. Davids Escape Room — Attraction in St. David's and the Cathedral Close

I'm a little ad-hoc with my planning and umm-ed and ahh-ed a bit over facebook messenger before finally missing all available time slots. In the end Ben really went out of his way to get us in and I'm so grateful for that, because my kids (and me) absolutely loved it.

They're 6 and 8 so I was a little worried they'd struggle, but was reassured they'd have a great time and with just a little bit of guidance they were cracking the puzzles in no time. The clues were very cleverly put together and I loved how much they encouraged us to work together as a team. We did need a couple of gentle hints but these didn't give too much away and there wasn't a point where any of us couldn't do something or couldn't be part of solving a task - and I when we took a bit of time I definitely didn't feel like we were against the clock or being rushed.

I also really liked the theme. I joked about it being unexpectedly topical but it's very well thought out and sparked my children's imagination something fierce. We spent a long time discussing the Celts afterwards and they're both now trying to work out how to make their own escape room challenge in the garden.

My only suggestion would be to have a little certificate or something for completing the challenge, perhaps a letter of thanks from the clan leaders for.... argh, I don't want to give anything away.... but when you solve the final lock. My kids like that kind of souvenir but not getting one didn't take away from the experience at all. Just an idea :)

Also worth noting that Ben is a superb host. Welcoming, friendly, and able to give the kind of subtle hints that still leave you feeling like you solved a puzzle without help.

All in all, this is exactly the kind of thing I look for in activities and it was absolutely a highlight...

Wow! This is an experience I will remember, very fondly, for a very long time! What amazing fun and a great memory making moment! I cannot recommend St David’s Escape Room enough - you are truly missing out on a little piece of magic if you choose not to go.

Went to complete both the indoor and outdoor challenges with ages 6-70+. Right from the moment I phoned to enquire, Ben was attentive and helpful. Upon arriving we all fell in love with the location of the experience, which is magical in itself. The indoor experience was amazing and I have not seen the family come together in such a way as we did, maybe ever! So joyful to laugh and puzzle together and build a truly shared moment. The outdoor experience (under the cover of trees) is themed differently and provides an equally wonderful challenge. The two complement each other wonderfully, but equally, would be fantastic on their own.

We had a brilliant time doing the outdoor escape room challenge! A really nice mix of physical tasks combined with mental challenges. The host was really welcoming and friendly with a good sense of fun and has pitched the challenges perfectly to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves. Even our 4 year old son was able to join in and have a great time. We will definitely be back next time we visit the area.

Thanks for another fab session today. Having thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor low ropes challenge with friends earlier in the week, we returned today with my mum and her partner to attempt the indoor escape room challenge. Our party ranged from a hyper active 4 year old, to an 88 year old with mobility issues and everyone enjoyed it and was able to participate. I honestly can't recommend this enough to everyone who visits the area! Good luck with your venture Ben and we hope to see you again next time we...
