I’ll start off with that it’s a lovely location. However as you can probably tell, I have given this location a 1 star rating. Why? Because the parking situation is bordering on criminal.

The pay by phone method works IF you can get a phone signal, there were many who were trying and failed. However the shocking fact is that 3 months after visiting we have received a parking penalty notice from Alliance Parking, who hide behind a PO Box number and have no phone contact details. They only show evidence of us entering and leaving the car park, but no evidence of the parking ticket that was paid for with cash and placed on the dashboard.

If they can provide evidence of no paid parking ticket on the dashboard then fair enough. But after 3 months we obviously don’t have the parking ticket as evidence as the car is cleaned out regularly.

Reading other peoples experiences of this, it would appear that 3 months is standard practice for ALLIANCE PARKING to send out a penalty notice. Almost certainly because of the reason above.

Their appeal system is designed to make it impossible to appeal and remain in the lower penalty charge bracket.

I understand that parking fees need to be charged, however, to the owners of Daymer Bay, please get shot of Alliance Parking as they will eventually lose you business.

That is my primary gripe. My second is being charged to use a toilet that is quite honestly disgusting. I am aware that it is in that state because of patrons, but if you’re going to charge to use them, then at least clean them.

Lovely location ruined by greed from the owners and...

Beach is excellent, however, CAR PARK is a complete SCAM. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Car park appears to be a pay & display with car park attendant however is actually ANPR. You must buy a ticket covering from the moment you drive through the gates to the moment you leave the gates. You do not have the usual 5 mins leeway from finding a space to get then get a ticket. Even if you don't find a space or actually park in car park you still have to buy a ticket.

This is the first parking ticket I've received in 11 years of driving, I have never seen another car park operate this 'new' system.

I have been coming to this beach since childhood, we subsequently brought our own children here, and now our baby grandchild. I paid for 3 hours parking but by the time we had made two trips carrying our things back to the car we must have been half an hour over the time. I have now received a letter from Alliance Parking fining me an extortionate £100. This seems to me to be just a way of ripping people off. In future if we ever, after this experience, come here again (and keep in mind we are not visitors but people who visit and pay for parking all year round) we will park elsewhere and walk...

Clean, safe beach where the water never really gets higher than your waist. The carpark is right behind the beach and only £5 for a day. There are toilets and a nice shop + cafe. Really accessible and fun for families.

What a great place. Beautiful beach and an amazing blue river/sea. We were able to park next to the beach, very friendly parking attendants. Walked up the hill. The view from the top worth the walk up!!

Gorgeous beach which is dog friendly. Only one flight of steps onto the beach from the car park. Shops and toilets in the car park. Really enjoyed our walk here even if it was raining.
