This place is stunning. Absolutely beautiful. The surrounding area is full of animals wandering freely. So beautiful. A horse stuck its head right through my car and indie and as a result I ended up with my 26 year old daughter sat on my lap in the drivers seat. 🤣😂 It’s a peaceful place and so clean and tidy. You can’t swim or go in the water or fish there as far as I know, but it’s a gorgeous place for a little picnic if you take away all of your rubbish with you. You get close up, really close up with bulls, cows, sheep, lambs and horses. So please drive slowly. Beautiful area, then of you have time, take a trip after to Davidstow airfield for open spaces and a beautiful nature area with more of the same. We loved it and will always visit...

Located to the south of Jamaica Inn, the famous smugglers haunt immortalised by Daphne du Maurier, and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ( AONB ). Colliford is Cornwall’s largest inland water, with a vast surface area of 900 acres – that’s about 682 football pitches!

With easy access from the A30. and with ample parking, picnic areas and lakeside walks, Colliford provides the opportunity for a peaceful day in the countryside without the distraction of watersports which are not allowed on the lake. Three way marked walks take in neighbouring moorland and the Nature Reserve is an important site for birdlife including...

We used this as a rest stop on our way deeper into Cornwall. Infinitely better than the brash service stations on the motorways. It has everything you need, parking, toilets, somewhere to stretch your legs, when we arrived there was a little van selling coffee and snacks. What more could you need? You get all this and it's beautiful to boot, we walked with our two dogs down to the lake, there are sheep around dogs must be kept in control. We have this in our memory now as a suitable...

Calm and quiet place you could take a nice walk around the lake and stop by in Jamaica Inn or carry on there is plenty of walk paths around it with loads of wildlife, car parks are height restricted to 2m and the public toilets were shut when we visited in high season which is strange. I would come back for more. Some noise can be heard from the A30 as it is very close by.
