Dozmary Pool is described as the place where the Lady of the Lake lives, who donated Excalibur sward to King Arthur. It is a very very fascinating place and I think usually nobody goes there. It was full of a low fog, even if it was summer, that contributes to its fairytale look. Don’t miss it!

Not really much to see here. We visited in the October half-term after our stay at the Jamaica Inn. The weather started to come in & it made it feel quite bleak! Can imagine the fabled legend of Excalibur rising from the depths of this dark & cold pool!

There are many myths and legends attached to this small lake just south of Bolventor, not least its name; this is reputedly derived from 'Dozy Mary', an unfortunate girl who was murdered here.

Among the other legends are that this is the resting place of King Arthur's sword, 'Excalibur' - this is the lake of 'Lady of the Lake' fame.

Dozmary Pool is also the location of one of Jan Tregeagle's trials. It is said he was set the task of emptying the pool equipped only with a holed...

This is a purely natural site, no facilities of any kind. It's not a true tourist destination, more a pilgrimage for Arthurian legend followers. Supposedly the lake where Excalibur was given and returned. Mind you wear good outdoor shoes/boots and watch for...
