What a wonderful experience! The tour was both informative and delightful. It began with a lovely glass of wine in the garden, and we enjoyed five more as we explored the estate. I recommend visiting during the week when the tour groups are smaller, possibly allowing for a second helping of wine. Even without that, the wines on offer are exquisite. Derek, our tour guide, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer any questions. If you're staying in the area, avoid using Green Metro Cars taxis as they tried to take advantage of us. There are plenty of other options available. We purchased our tour with a discount from Virgin Points, and while the experience is worth the full price, getting a discount makes it an even better deal. After the tour, we enjoyed a bottle of our favorite wine (Braccus still) and a delicious cheese and meat sharing plate, which was a perfect end to the day. The weather was beautiful, so try to plan your visit on a sunny day, though I understand that can be tricky with English weather. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you for such a memorable day!

Stanlake Park Wine Estate was a fantastic discovery for this American wine-lover. It is a short, beautiful walk from Twyford station (itself an easy train ride to/from London). They have a lovely garden where you can order wines by the flight, glass, or bottle with helpful wine descriptions, as well as English cheese plates and charcuterie. It's such an idyllic and relaxing environment. They also were kind enough to squeeze me into the afternoon vineyard tour and tasting (they pour a generous 6 samples while on the tour) even though I had not prebooked, and it was quite informative, and our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. My visit to Stanlake Park gave me a renewed, heightened appreciation for British wines (especially the whites and sparklings), and Stanlake Park does a wonderful job of balancing respect for tradition with creativity in winemaking. Don't miss this if you are in the area!

Thank you very much to all at Stanlake Park Estate for a wonderful evening of wine (and cheese) tasting. I have visited Stanlake Park on many different occasions, and this year, for my 40th birthday, I wanted to introduce my family to Stanlake Park. We took part in a wine tasting evening, which was very well delivered by our host Richard and the team. We learnt about the amazing wines that are made and sold at the vineyard, as well as some wonderful cheeses that perfectly complement the various wines and can be purchased in the cellar shop. As you'd expect, the wine bar has a very extensive offering of wines that can be tried and purchased. As well as offering other local produce and a variety of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. I can't recommend Stanlake Park highly enough, and look forward to my next visit soon.

Mixed feelings about this place

We had our wedding here in July this year Good points: Absolutly stunning venue and picturesque for photos. The wine tastes beautiful. The food we had on the wedding day was amazing and every one of our guests had nothing but good things to say about the food and how impressed they were. The contractors hired for the day of the wedding to organise and make sure it runs smoothly were amazing, I could not have wished for better staff that day. They were polite, nothing was too much of a hassle, for some reason the top table had 3 long tables put together which wasn't big enough for 9 people and meant we were squashed together. The coordinator saw this straight away and put an extra table in for us, which made it more comfortable.

The not so good points: Renovations as we have all experienced, don't always go according to plan, which meant for us the toilets weren't completed before our wedding. The owner did organise and set up posh portaloos, this was great until the mens toilets flooded within 3hrs of the wedding breakfast starting (there was more women than men at our wedding). So they had to then use the women's toilets. Which meant a not so nice smell coming from there. The toilets were maintained by staff but with all portaloos posh or not, will always have the potential for flooding. Not what you want on your wedding day and not for the price we paid for the venue itself.

The venue staff never kept us up to date with the renovations. We were told at the tasting just casually about the tpikets not being ready and we would get portaloos and the accommodation might not be available. Which wouldn't be a problem but we pre booked a room and wasn't told it might not be ready and we hadn't booked anything else. It's not something you want to here 2 months prior to the wedding day. But the venue staff were prompt in responding to our complaint and did recommend accommodation close to the winery.

With all the not so good things about this venue, caused us both to be unhappy with our choice of venue, and if it wasn't for loosing our full payment we were very close to cancelling the wedding with Stanlake.

The only thing that made the day go great and without a hitch was purely down to the contracting staff the venue had employed. The two ladies were absolutly fantastic that coordinated the day and all the waiters and waitresses were friendly and...

The short: No one from the venue was there on the morning of the wedding so there was no one to show us where anything was, how to set up the microphone/PA system etc,etc

-The chairs we all had to sit on for the wedding service and to be served drinks from, were wet (there was a wedding the day before)

-The venue staff were doing wedding viewings the morning of the wedding when we were struggling to set up

There was nowhere really to change a baby (not a big deal as we brought a pram and changing mat but would be nice and in future, people should be aware) We had the same issue with the toilets - only portaloos with no baby change and impossible with a big wedding dress!

The long: We booked to marry on a Summer Saturday in 2020, and due to Covid-19 we had to postpone the big day. We spoke to the venue and they originally offered a Friday in September 2021 which we accepted. They messaged later that week and said that if we wanted that date we would have to pay an additional £5600 on top of the £4K deposit we had already paid! We couldn't afford to do that so we chose a Friday in early April with no other choices other than mondays/tuesdays and wednesdays. I said I was due to give birth the end of March, so I was secretly so glad that due to Covid-19 the wedding was postponed again to June 2021 as I was panicking about looking after a 3 week old baby. Then it got moved yet again because of another change in Government guidelines so in the end we endure 4 postponements before we got our wedding day on a Sunday and if they had just given me that date in September I wouldn't have had so much stress. It felt like they were working against us rather than with us. It was upsetting that we felt that we weren't supported in any way and our deposit, which they wouldn’t return, was used to control our choices.

What made the wedding a wonderful day was all the fantastic people who we had chosen for our big day, all my wonderful friends and family and although the hosts were unhelpful, the venue really is a...
