The same review I left on Facebook, however since my post got alot of comments from people who were disgusted and also feeling the same way I have noticed the reviews part of the Facebook page has been removed;
Clearly this place is about getting as much money from people as possible! I came with my daughter and explained that I can come here as a free carer (she has severe autism) and showed a photo of the DLA letter on my phone. However the woman on the desk said they only allow a paper copy but I was unaware of this, I could of shown an ID to show my name would of matched the one of the DLA letter to show it was genuine, my daughter was also wearing her school uniform which is a local specialist school for children with severe learning difficulties. I explained that my daughter only uses the play area in the farm as she has no interest in rest of the areas so £28 is an extreme amount of money to pay for this especially when the farm closes at 5:30pm (less than 2 hours after we arrived) - she also wanted to leave after less than half an hour. I’m not asking for “special treatment” but I had proof of receiving DLA and was not to know that I would need my paper copy, we live 13 miles away from Walby farm so we couldn’t go home to get the paper copy of the letter and this would have also upset my daughter as she was very excited to attend this place as we avoided going in the school half term we have just had as it would have been too busy for her.
I believe we have been treated unfairly with no remorse. Walby farm park is very overpriced anyway let alone for a single parent and child with additional needs. What harm would it been of letting us use the free carer entry we are entitled to once for good will?!
When emailing this complaint I was given a reply suggesting me to purchase a pass which is £70, again all about money……
UPDATE - I was blocked on Facebook which doesn’t come as a surprise as I had numerous comments from other customers who had the same experience! Very unprofessional and childish behaviour...
Read moreWe went here last friday and we paid nearly £15 each for adult and £1 something for pumpkin of our lil one. I think under 1 year old dont have any entrance payment. We are glad to see the farm animals as our lil one enjoyed it very much. We did some pumpkin patch too although it looked so ripped off as many people were coming in but its okay. We enjoyed pumpkin craving as well. We didnt enjoy the indoor soft play. Many kids ages more than 4 years old are playing at soft play corner under ages 2. Theres no staff to guide you or introduce you in any areas to facilitate so its like youll do it by your own but its not so big to not figure it out. Aside from that, bigger kids were totally too loud and gone wild inside. Most of them are totally out of control as they play so we took precautions for our lil one and moved out although its windy and cold for her. I think it will be more enjoyable if you come here not on holidays. We werent aware also abt the half term of kids in uk as 1st time parents. Food wise its okay. They have an app to order online without going with the queque but it still took us ages to have our meals. We ordered 2 adult breakfast and 1 kids meal. 2 sets of teas and coffee am and pm. Additionally, 2 sets of sweet tray bakes too. We didnt feel any difference of the food, teas & coffees from what we used to have from the usual shops around UK. So dont expect too much. It could do better regarding the food service if they have more staff as they are the only cafe inside. It is worth mentioning that if your from Carlisle, you can ride a cab going there as it is not reachable by the bus transportation. We paid £15 going and back is same cost too. They have also a souvenirs shop inside. Above all, our stay there from 10am till 3.30pm is okay and what matters most is our lil...
Read moreAbsolute rip off for what it was, (£71.75 for 2 adults and 3 kids) lots of different activities advertised on the website, in the fields we seen a total of 4 (yes FOUR) sheep, there was 3 donkeys and a shire horse in the inside area what did not move in the 4 hrs we were there, standing in there own faeces) the fields were absolutely sodden and wrecked our shoes (maybe more fool us) we did however see a (yes ONE poor) field mouse what had obviously been stolen from there fields and displayed at n a pity full (display) and all the animals looked either sad or utterly depressed or terrified, we have been a couple of times before (hoping it would improve) and the Clydesdale horse is clearly not comfortable as it' was in the same place and position every single time
The "clean" pics of the pens/stalls are in reality not as they look in the pics online, there dirty and full of faeces, the staff are uninterested and seemed unwilling to interact, probably as you only employ 16r olds (as it's obviously cheaper) your only objective is obviously revenue, the animals are obviously unhappy and some obviously distressed
There was no
Pigs Goats Calves Chickens Ducks Reindeer Red deer
Given most of the reviews are from "Owner" speaks volumes
Food was ridiculously overpriced, £3 for a pityfull bowl of chips, £7.10 for a panini
There main objective is obviously money, no duty of care for the animals that earn them money nor the customers who fund it.
In a nutshell, your only interest is making money, which is absolutely fine, but at least put money back in and grow the business and look after what in essence "looks after and provides for you"
It's a soft play area and expensive cafe at best with a few random farm animals in an old farm...
