Quiet stoney beach with some small patches of sand at the tide front. Seems favourable with fishing. Bring on the Jurassic coast you can find some fossils if you look hard. Dogs are allowed. There is a car park with an honestly box for payment (£4 at the time of writing this). Be aware that access to the car park and beach is via some narrow country lanes. There are passing places but a lot of the road is only wide enough for one car so if you're driving be prepared to stop suddenly and possibly have to reverse to let an oncoming car through. Read moreI love this beach. Its not at all commercial. You won't find anywhere to buy an ice cream or a plastic bucket and spade or a 'kiss me quick' hat. It hasn't got soft yellow sand either, just rocks and pebbles. It's only accessible via a long, very narrow road, only the width of one car. There is only a very small car park. If there are 15 cars in it then it is bursting to capacity. And yet, there is something peaceful, serene, mystical and magical about this beach that makes it a so appealing. I'm hoping I've said enough here to make sure you stay well away from Eype Beach. What it doesn't need is you, or crowds of people cluttering...
Read moreThe beach is a shingle beach but a lovely unspoilt area. Dog friendly all year round and does not restrict BBQs. See review of car park for the fun that can be had getting here. Steep steps to the beach but it's worth the effort. People go swimming here and it's relatively calm, however water quality can be mixed. Please note... Whilst it's dog friendly this does not mean just letting your dogs roam around unnoticed for 45 mins whilst you ignore it totally. Letting other people care for them, thinking they are lost whilst you pay no attention... Bad dog owners are not...
