Historic beacon on top of the cliffs between Golden Cap and West Bay, with excellent views over the Bridport and beyond to Chesil Beach. It would originally have formed part of a number of beacons that provided an early warning against invasion. The walk uphill from Seatown Beach is steep, but rewarded with superb views. Seatown itself has charged parking, and the Anchor Inn and a village shop where you can stop for refreshments or supplies. Hilly walk but usually lower level pathways to wall areound the hills but some climb if you want to seek the view points. The cliff edges are soft soil so i woukd stay back from the edge. Stop off at the Anchor pub but avoid lunctime on sunny days if you want food go early or a little later. However, you get a £2 deduction if you buy food at the Anchor Inn. Well worth it for a bite and a beer after viewing The Cap and Thorncombe beacon. The latter is the easier of the 2 walks.
