A short walk from Haytor, this disused quarry was operated by a local man and the granite rail lines bear his name - Templer Trail (note: TEMPLER with an "E"). Granite was extracted from this location, transported by rail trucks to the Stover Canal, thence by barge and ship to various places including London. The visitor will enjoy a good walk around the natural and decided lake to discover various remnants of a bygone era, but be careful as the trail is uneven.
