Stayed here for the week with my sister and our children. Pros: Swimming pool is modern and clean, also incredibly warm and well managed. Caravans are spacious with good facilities and great for the price. Close to beautiful beaches that change throughout the day for different activities - when the tide goes out it’s a whole new adventure! Supermarkets and amenities close by. Reception staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Activities were priced fairly - mini golf for £3 each is unheard of in London! Cons: Staff in the clubhouse were absolutely clueless - had no idea when anything was starting or finishing, overcharged us so many times in the first day we started asking for receipts, closed the kitchen ten minutes before they were supposed to and didn’t manage wait times at all. Food regularly came out wrong or inedible - my daughter had a panini that was rock hard on one end and wet on the other end. Much of the menu was unavailable with instant coffee being our only option at the bar and ice cream inexplicably being served in coffee cups? Very odd. 45 minute time slots for the pool didn’t seem long enough, especially when you can only book once a day. The entire park seems to go to sleep on a Wednesday with no activities and even the slide in the pool closed for the day. Shops and facilities have no opening or closing times on them. Pizza and Pie not open at all, and small convenience store closed at around 1pm everyday. Arcade was mediocre at best with at least five games/machines not working. Staff slow to help with recovering lost money and didn’t put up a single out of order sign to alert guests to machines that were broken for our entire stay. Beds and sofa EXTRAORDINARILY uncomfortable. Overall the area and the company made our trip, but after our less than impressive stay I struggle to understand why anyone would rate this park highly. Staff are the biggest issue which is a shame, because the right people could make this place shine. Won’t be returning.

Overall a 3/5 score. We enjoyed the swimming pool, crazy golf (although please get someone to regularly sweep it as the course had stones and all sorts on it) and weather. The staff at reception were also friendly and made a courtesy call during our stay to check everything was okay which was a nice touch. The pool temperature was perfect. Usually expect freezing water but not here. Very strict on the 45 min time slot. After 45 min you get chucked out. There was a beach 10 minutes walk from our caravan but we drove 5 minutes to the bigger one where there was a free car park. Spent a couple of hours there. Negatives - the beds are very uncomfortable with plastic topper and soft mattresses. Small too. Our carpet was stained and we had some fleas which we reported at the end of the stay (not such a big issue). The shower didn’t drain the water away properly. The caravan was called a gold plus but would be a budget grade in other resorts. Food in the club house was poor so we cooked in the caravan our other two nights. Two pool tables had issues. In the arcade one machine swallowed my money and the bowling, which would have been amazing for our toddler, wasn’t working. The shop was well stocked and we got a few bits from that. Overall, we had a good three night stay making memories and our toddler had fun. But we wouldn’t stay again because of the caravan. But if you have a low budget and just want a cheap getaway for a couple nights, this is a good place to go. We wouldn’t stay for a week though.

We stayed here for 1 week for our holiday. Apart from the helpful reception and the clean caravan, I have no more positive experiences. At a holiday park you don't expect to wake up early every morning due to commuting / work / school traffic of the permanent residents from 6 a.m. There is therefore no control over who enters or leaves the park at any time as there is no gate or, as you would expect at a holiday park, a time clock. And if I got £1.00 for every car that speeds in front of our caravan then my stay would have been free. We have been to the restaurant a few times, but only to have a drink because I did not dare to try the food since the previous reviews. There are plenty of food alternatives in Harwich and the surrounding area. Since we were not at the park during reception office hours and our television in the caravan kept getting a poor picture or no signal, I thought I would pass this on by email. But there was no response at all or the television was checked. This email address I emailed to is the same address as the arrival information and to which I did receive an answer when I had a question before we arrived. This is the 2nd Park Holiday that we have visited, but I think we will look for a different park or house next year because we have a different vision of a holiday park that revolves around holiday guests.
