Irlam's Beach is located at the lower end of Dovercourt & the northern side of Hamford Waters Nature Reserve. It's an unspoilt area of soft dunes stretching southwards as far as Sheep Beach. It's possible to walk to Sheep Beach at low tide if you're prepared to wade up to knee deep through the channel. At high tide to proceed further requires using the seawall.
