Absolutely top notch trail park - easily one of the best mountain biking facilities in the UK! Whether you're an Olympic dreamer (aka beginner wanting to learn) or an Olympic hopeful (aka confident and kitted up)... FlyUp417 has something for everyone.
The FlyUp experience goes way beyond the incredible array of downhill trails which, paired with the soul-reviving UpLift service* (*think ski-lift but a minibus and bike trailer), makes this the ideal location for those Olympic hopefuls wishing to focus on honing their skills, not wasting precious time and energy climbing hills every single rep! The indoor pump track is an absolute blast - perhaps on a smaller scale but still requiring a strong sense of daring and nerves of steel (if not mad skills).
Most importantly, for me, the staff there are wonderfully passionate and reassuringly straightforward in their duties; they'll listen and understand and do everything in their power to help all their clients have the best experiences possible. From the painstaking maintenance of their equipment and upholding of diligent safety standards, to the friendly and approachable manner with which they greet and assist their customers on all fronts, the entire experience is a real pleasure. From management to kitchen staff, every last person seemed genuinely pleased to be there (even at bang on 9am when I personally really struggle with people in general so I was suitably impressed at how serenely they dealt with me!)
Especially considering the logistical overhaul these folks have had imposed upon them (A417/Air Balloon Roundabout, etc), they still have maintained absolutely world-class facilities here to rival any pro training spaces... arguably well worth any traffic encountered on the A417 (or just stay late on a Thursday evening and miss rush hour?!)

Read moreThis review is based on a one off situation and not the rule, my son learned to ride with the Flyup 417 team and we have always had such fun there. The staff are always super friendly and happy to help. But today was my first encounter with the ManagerâŚ
My just turned 3, year old son and I went to Flyup 417 today to hone his skills and develop his confidence on his pedal bike, as well as hopefully meeting new friends in the sport that we love. Unfortunately though, today didnât end well.
My son asked to ride his new bike on the big track today so paying the ÂŁ16 admission we headed up to the bottom section so he could have a little roll down. Sadly he made it to 1 corner before having a meltdown and asking to go to the indoor pump track as he was scared. There we spent the next 15 minutes having lots of fun before having another cry after a fall, and being a typical 3 year old and asking to go home.
It was only when I got home that I felt that paying the extra ÂŁ10 in riding 5 metres of the outdoor track was a bit excessive and so I thought I would call and ask if there was any consideration of goodwill based upon the circumstances.
Sadly the manager on duty had no compassion and was quite firm in stating that based on company policy that no refunds of any type would be considered. Even given the fact that we have spent many hundreds of pounds with the company over the years.
If like me you have a young family some advice would be that before going to this venue either donât deal with the manager as mentioned or be absolutely sure your child is fresh and free from any tiredness or âjust being a childâ, as you may be subject to an inconsiderate person that hides behind company policy rather than making a judgement based on circumstances...
Read moreReally good day out, great selection of trails in pretty decent condition. We had uplift all day, my first in a long time, and it was worth every penny. They guys did a great job of ferrying us up, there was generally little waiting time, sometimes straight on and up. I had a puncture towards the end, I was quickly driven back down to the workshop and sorted within a few mins! Everything was well signposted and the facilities were very good. Lunch break was short and the uplift ran over time a little.
Our only slight disappointment was the hour and a half after lunch; it seemed like there were 50% more riders and the loading took a little longer. The queues built up to two full van loads and no vans a few times. It settled down and It was more than made up for in the following hour and a half đ I will be back soon!
24/9 - A lot busier this time and had to queue for every lift, occasionally for some time. Still got plenty of runs to justify the cost but a lot of them were at the end of the day when really tired. I donât think the amount of small bikes running helped the situation, nor did the fact the third van didnât turn up till the queue was massive. There is fallout over the day but maybe too many booked on today for three vans. I got more runs in the last hour and half than I did in the whole morning session đ Lunch break was short and the guys kept running us up past the advertised stop time. Overall, another good day đ
Further update - itâs disappointing to see others highlighting not much maintenance completed in the last year. I also really donât understand ebike push up prices, ÂŁ20 for a full day or ÂŁ18 for 3 hours on...
