I do like this place for something different while out for a bike ride , I often pop in to ride around it on my way home and call in to the cafe for a drink. It's also easy to part a car in one of the car parks (free) and have a walk but worth having a look on the internet about the history first. It's flat and the paths are gravel a very safe place for a family walk , I think it's about 4 miles around it with paths cutting across and cows roaming freely but they don't bother you. Can get busy at weekends with cyclists and joggers but there is plenty of room for all if respect is given for the various uses. There are cattle and horses on the common so I just try to avoid them with the dogs when they have babies. Big skies where you can see for miles.
