I do like this place for something different while out for a bike ride , I often pop in to ride around it on my way home and call in to the cafe for a drink. It's also easy to part a car in one of the car parks (free) and have a walk but worth having a look on the internet about the history first. It's flat and the paths are gravel a very safe place for a family walk , I think it's about 4 miles around it with paths cutting across and cows roaming freely but they don't bother you. I will say again, if you never been look on the internet about the...

Great place for walking the dogs. Either stay on the paths or go off the beaten track. Can get busy at weekends with cyclists and joggers but there is plenty of room for all if respect is given for the various uses. There are cattle and horses on the common so I just try to avoid them with the dogs when they have babies. Big skies where you can see for miles. It seems different in every season and different times of day changes the light so great for taking photos. Because it’s quite high up the wind can whip across there, so wrap up warm on cold,...

A great to visit, many routes to take on gravelled track. Walk the dogs and kids. So many hidden areas in the woods. I've been visiting for over 10yrs and only 1 year ago I discovered a pond area. Great for picnics in the grass. Car parks across different areas of the common. (Not pay and display but ask for a contribution at the middle one by the large roundabout) cattle are friendly and don't...

Lovely place to visit for a nice walk or to go for a run/jog if you're still able to (, unlike myself). Nice and flat services, well maintained. Cafe closes at 3pm so providing you time the end of your walk with closing time, bring a flask. Lovely spot for as long a walk as you fancy on an area fixed in local history.

Took advantage of the glorious October weather to go for a 57 minute walk each way round the former US base. The cafe at the former Control Tower comes as a welcome break. A gem in our locality. 👍

Great place to take dogs. There is a lovely dog pond, our two dogs love the pond, even if the cows are around the pond. The cows are used to people and dogs.
