Beautiful gardens - they were past their peak when we visited in October but we're still lovely to walk around with late season dahlias and asters in abundance. The garden isn't huge as public gardens go but as a private enterprise is astounding. They are clearly the product of love and care. The staff member who was in attendance when we visited was incredibly helpful.
In terms of COVID, I don't think I've been anywhere that's been as conscientious. The info is clear and logical, the temporary route is well signposted and none of the restrictions felt overbearing.

It’s a paradise for anyone who loves plants and an inspiration for gardeners everywhere, whether professional or amateur. If you just want to stroll around a cosy, beautiful and diverse garden, look at beautiful flowers or want ideas for combinations of plants, this garden has it all. I love this garden SO much and of all the gardens I’ve visited in Cornwall this is by far my favourite. Read moreVisiting in Sept there is plenty of colour in the extensive herbaceous beds. Island beds in the main. Very much a plantsman's garden, with a huge range of plants and many unusual forms. Probably 30+ dahlias for example. Will be good throughout the season with lots of Spring bulbs (eg snowdrop collection and primulas), extensive fernery, and plenty of shrubs.
