I do not write this review with any malice or hatred. Just my own personal experience. And I am not a member of any forum or group that is strongly against this particular organisation. This is an outright cult, period. I was born and grew up in India, which to the west has always been perceived as a spiritual country. The fact is, sadly in this day and age, it is anything but spiritual. Religion and Spirituality is mostly a cut throat business, sphearheaded by Godmen and God Women, Gurus, Babas, Monks and Spiritual Leaders in Organic garb and regalia. From all the reviews here, as expected, sadly, most of us get deceived by the smiling monks and nuns, the aura built around the main man or lady, the beautiful buildings, gardens and landscapes, the smell of freshly ground coffee and all that jazz. I got sucked into this vicious outfit years back, at the age of 24. Over time, they completely decimate your critical thinking and are absolutely fab at drawing people in. They make sacks of money by attracting people with skills related to building and construction, public speaking and other skill sets; people who are brain washed and mainly work for free or next to nothing for years. Their sham and frequent empowerment programs, where you pay top dollar for a pop; brings in the regular mullah, apart ofcourse from the books, sadanas and stuff they sell in their shops, and their expensive phony festivals all over the globe, that people fly across to from all parts of the world like sheep. They own real estate worth tons of dozens of millions, all over the globe. And not to mention, the ridiculous brass statues of their ex founder/spritual leader sells for good money, as well as framed black and white photographs of him. In general, people are obsessed with the ex spritual leader and literally chant his name in every sentence. Their so called spritual leader was a ruthless dictator and an apallingly useless and incoherent public speaker. The West are sadly enchanted by holy scoundrels from South Asia. He had his well trained cronies around him to brainwash people into believing how special and celestial he was. The saga continues after he has passed away. When you attend any talks or festivals, you are engineered to listen, not to ask or cross question. They even encourage people to donate whatever they have, to the extent of a segment of their salary, estate and property. Faith/Religion is a fantastic business model and this outfit has perfected it with flying colours. When people within the organisation speak up, they are sidelined and aggressively ousted. Please do not waste your hard earnerd money with this outfit, which has had its fair share of sex scandals on several ocassions in the past related to key ordained teachers taking advantage of people; all nicely covered up and brushed under the carpet. Buy...

Admittedly I am both an atheist and believe that all organised religions are or have been harmful. They exist to control populations (perhaps not by the originators but very soon afterwards) and the signs are there.

Despite the tranquility and serene atmosphere why do those adhering to the “community “ need to shave their hair to conform and effectively wear a uniform? The meditation centre appears stylish and well proportioned until one looks at the garish self important golden addition. Such are trade marks of incipient dominance not peace and mutual recognition.

The grounds are peaceful, the ancient woodland my sort of place and the personal memories of loved ones appropriate. The Priory exterior is magnificent but just another example of the elite of the hierarchy of the day presiding over others.

No doubt as in all religions I have observed, expressed in terms of the delights of the hereafter for those less fortunate “ you will have your rewards in the next life”. An example from radio 4 this morning - during the Iran/Iraq war children were tied together to prevent anyone dissenting, told that they would live in Paradise and made to walk through minefields to clear them!

Look to the sky on a clear night and observe all the stars. Each has its planets and some must be inhabited by life forms. Why do people think that the earth and mankind is paramount? Why do sane people need an imaginary friend to support them?

The participants appear to live a life away from our society that has much to learn without much comfort yet there are funds to set up many similar temples around the major cities...

I recently visited the Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre and was absolutely blown away. The serene and beautiful grounds are the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The free parking is a major bonus, making it easy to arrive and relax.

The café offers a wonderful selection of delicious food and drinks at incredibly reasonable prices. The quality of the food is fantastic, and the service is friendly and efficient.

The temple itself is a truly stunning structure, filled with intricate details and a peaceful atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to sit and meditate or simply enjoy the tranquility.

If you're looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to visit, I highly recommend the Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre. The grounds are perfect for a leisurely walk, and the overall atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. It's also a great spot for dog walking, with plenty of woodland...

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN LIVE IN A CASTLE IN ENGLAND?

YES, IT IS POSSIBLE to live inside this castle, in exchange for volunteering to help monks at a Buddhist temple ❤️
You can live for 1 month in the castle, surrounded by good people, with 3 delicious meals included, warm rooms and the possibility to make new friends, with people from all over the world.
By volunteering, you can help in the kitchen, painting, gardening, and much more... and the most important, help a good cause!
This seems like a dream, but it is reality. Traveling has never been so easy and fun and Trip will take you there @trip

First time visiting, really enjoyed it. The lady on the reception desk was helpful, explained where things were. We then walked round to the temple. We were greeted by a nice friendly lady, we just had to wait a couple of minutes until the meditation had finished before we could go in. We had to remove our shoes after entering (or you could put plastic shoe covers on). Enjoyed looking at everything inside, my 5 year old asked if we could sit down on the chairs and she actually sat for 20 minutes, very quietly with the odd whispered chat here and there. Certainly seemed to have a calming effect on her. We then did the walk to the beach which wasn't too far, but unfortunately the weather was rubbish so we just had a quick look and turned around and came back. If it's been raining I'd definitely recommend doing the walk in wellies as it's quite muddy. We didn't visit the cafe so can't comment on that.

Manjushri is a beautiful, serene and tranquil place and always leaves me with a sense of inner calm. The converted priory provides accommodation, interesting courses and meditation but you certainly do not need to follow the faith to visit. It is open to everyone and well worth a visit. It is also home to a fabulous cafe, gift shop, beautiful golden temple that is free to visit (just check the times if you want a guided tour), temple workshop, toilet facilities and lovely grounds to walk around. It is very child and dog friendly and you can enjoy a lovely snack before exploring the woods that lead down onto the beach. We did not order food on this particular visit as we were just passing through but having visited a number of times before, I can confirm that the food is lovely and wholesome and they do have scrummy cakes! They cater for vegans and vegetarians and it is all reasonably priced x
