Poppleton Lakes — Attraction in Upper Poppleton

Called here twice last year, Well pleased with fishing. First time we fished this chap ( roger the owner unknown to us) told me how to land a 2lb carp.Nice work roger ,then he took the rod from my mates hand and told him he was fishing too heavy, reduced hook length and put a smaller hook on. Really good place to catch fish. 3 different ponds for regular fishing and there is always space, we had the entire back lake to ourselves.

You can tell there are loads of fish in here, I am not a massive carp fisher but I caught them all day on pellets probably one every half hour. Maybe I got lucky, it was well worth £10 to fish to me.

I have been places and paid a day ticket, especially rivers and caught nothing.

Myself and partner too the 1hr and 10 mins drive from West Yorkshire and met a lovely chap called roger who welcomed us at the gate. Explained there was a cafe and even helped me out with a nice fishing spot ! Yes the price stated was £6 but we did pay £8 the overall stay was great and will be back. Defo a Saturday as advise given was Sundays are match days and you can only fish the house lake. Still a beauty of lake to fish but wouldn’t mind getting on the horseshoe or specimen lake.
