A wonderful expanse of reclaimed parkland revealing, 'The Heart of the Dearne', with just a small car parking facility. Designed with numerous circular walks, offering both flat and inclined walks and cycling.

The park displays many pieces of local stone & metal sculpture artwork, to honour the historical past of the former coal mining and farming culture of the Dearneside area.

The park also includes a large free standing stone climbing wall for the more energetic athletic types to enjoy. Several benches tend to be positioned on the higher ground, to rest & enjoy the uninterrupted panoramic views of the area, and wooden tables to enjoy a picnic on the flatter area’s. Phoenix Park is a truly beautiful peaceful place, great for both kids and the young at heart to enjoy the fresh air and open...

Small carpark available straight into the park. The paths are sturdy and there are plenty variation of routes to choose, from the lower paths around the small lake to up onto the hills to see the views. Benches are placed in viewing areas for a little rest if needed. Most of the undergrowth and wildlife have barriers around it making the area ideal to walk dogs, preventing dogs running off. It's also lovely open area so you can see others approaching, giving enough time to gain control of the dogs if needed. The lower areas can be a bit water logged and slushy in wet weather, but further up the paths are stable and sturdy. Our dogs and children love the...

Took the dog and my husband who is in a wheelchair. Dry days for a week so the paths were great for the wheelchair. Dog had plenty of grassy areas to chase his ball and explore. Not busy when we went which was also great. Good for families as play and exploration of the different statues was safe and plenty of space on grass and in the woods and nature trails to play. I am not sure how the paths would be if wet. I would think it could get quite muddy with white clayish substance which would impact on wheelchair use. Evidence of paths being made more durable with some being layed with...

There is a really small carpark, which we managed to squeeze into. Really nice place, there are walking trails to follow or you can give your own way, little one chose which paths to go and I followed. Paths were still wet and muddy, from the day before; with that white, clay kind of mud that's hard to wash out of clothes. We tried to see all the sculptures, not sure if we did but they're awesome. We didnt see all of the park as it's so big but what we did see was lovely
