Avoid this place, 0 stars!!!!! Group of 8 people here going karting and our trip was ruined in wales. Staff were so rude to us when we were getting dressed and got there. We asked an employee if we could get dressed ourselves they said yes. 10 mins later we get screamed at by another employee "get out of there now". Really unprofessional. The karting is really unsafe!! No seat belts, helmets were too big for some of us and karts are simply not safe enough (metal is not covered by plastic or anything). One person of the group at the end of the session accidentally spun around and was facing the wrong way, another person from the group bumped into them (accidentally). We all got to the finish line as our session had finished and we all realised that the bump had caused the girl who spun out to have an open wound around 2inches on the ankle (due to the metal on the karts). She ended up having 16 stitches at a local hospital!! The other person was diagnosed with haematoma/sprain on her thigh/knee. The hospital even said to us "we havent had accidents from this place in a while" which suggested to us that we were not the only ones in the past with such bad injuries. When the accident happened the employees did nothing to assist us. Just got a bandage on the girl and got a incident report book and then persisted to ask "did you piss about" yes those are their exact words!! And no we did not mess around to cause anything like this to happen. After the hospital we went back as the girl had also lost her raybands glasses which we rang twice about and they claimed they cant find (we believe they had pocketed them) also we demanded a refund as our entire trip was ruined as the 2 girls could barely walk. We were only given half and they said "we cant give you more". This place is dodgy and very much unsafe for karting!! I understand big groups can be intimidating for people and staff but i must say we did not break any rules or behave badly. We followed their rules from the beginning and we got nothing but carelessness.
About the karting session before the accident, we didnt really enjoy it too. We had been karting previously and corners were too sharp which caused the spinning of the karts. When someone bumps they didnt slow the rest of the karts down like other professional places to decrease those exact accidents!! Employees werent even paying attention to us, they stood at the start line talking to eachother. Also some of us complained that some karts were faster than others which made the race...
Read moreWe were visiting wales and we were looking for something to do to entertain a 7 year old on a miserable day but unfortunately our visit was as miserable as the weather. It started from when we set foot inside where there was two going members of staff behind reception and instead of engaging with us and saying good morning can I help you they just looked at us and sniggered because we were clearly looking around trying to work out where everything was and what we had to do to book etc but the two girls just laughed at the fact a family had come in and were wandering around looking puzzled instead of asking if we needed any help! We did the go karts which was great. My son loved it. I can’t talk for any other activities as the go karts is all we did, so I’m sure these would also be ok. Play park shut and run down, crazy golf run down, whole place pretty run down really. Bowling alley very dark and dingy and one of the ball return machines was broken and made a constant high pitched ringing sound. Pretty annoying! 3 bowling lanes out of use! My son (7) went up to buy some crisps and got nothing more than a grunt and even he mentioned how rude the girl at the bar was to him. We then played a game of pool (only one table available as the other was broken) and whenever the white ball goes down it gets locked in with the coloured balls instead of coming straight out which meant asking the staff to come and get it out (which was twice, first time when we were first setting up and the second time when it was potted during a game) the second time we asked, the staff member came out looking furious that she’d been asked to come and retrieve the white ball for us that gets stuck because THERE pool table doesn’t work! And threw the ball back on the table with anger hitting the other balls. My Husband then addressed the poor service and attitude that this particular staff member gave and she just gave us a filthy look and walked off. I thought it might have been just us but I also witnessed the poor service when other people were requiring her assistance. I honestly have never witnessed customer service like it! So if you want to feel welcomed and like the staff are happy to have you in their establishment DO NOT GO HERE! hand dryer also not working in the toilets, tissue everywhere due to this. All round very...
Read moreI've been to many Go Kart providers in my time. I have also worked, for the last 20 years, quite closely with full size motorsport. I have never seen and experienced such a poor and dangerous GoKarting session. The helmets issued were not checked for size suitability. One of my kids could virually rotate his head within the poorly fitting helmet. I had to insist that they were changed. The single, utterly dis-interested teenage employee, who was running the junior session failed to deliver any sort of track or health and safety briefing. All my children got was 'right pedal, and left pedal' functions. No mention of any of the flag colours and meanings, not a problem, as none were ever used. He spent most of the 10min session looking at his phone. It was raining and kids were spinning frequently on corners, left stranded, pointing the wrong way, while other oncoming karts swerved round them. A true potential of a head on whiplash crash and certainly a Yellow Flag moment, but not to captain TikTok. Another classic of the GoKart briefing is how to get out of the kart without touching the red hot exhaust. Suffice to say, as there was no briefing whatsoever, my son used the exhaust to lift himself out of the kart and got the burns you see in the picture. We took him to the reception for a burn dressing. Although they did give us an ice pack, they didn't even look, ask or care about my sons burn. Certainly no details were taken, so I doubt the incident will make it to an accident book. Anyone who runs a company will know that a burnt child customer is definitely something that needs recording! So, if shoddy and dilapidated karts, zero health and safety, bored and dis-interested teenage staff, weeds everywhere and a 'seen better days' vibe is what you are looking for, you're in the right place. If you don't want to risk either whiplash or burns to your children, then make alternative plans. I'll be reporting this place to the H&S Executive, it's...
